system. Yoga should not be seen as an old myth of yesterday because it has the same benefits and value today as before and can provide guidance and help to modern man. It is very important and urgent today to incorporate the concept of yoga into the core concepts of modern psychotherapy and become an important and important part of the global culture tomorrow. Most of us are very focused in life now on creating good things that will come out of what we do. We are always looking for updates on our status and status. But that is not the purpose of our life. According to Indian culture, seeking, attaining a state completely free from misery and sorrow is the ultimate goal of life. This state can be called moksa, kaivalya, apavarga, nirvana, etc. To achieve this goal, yoga is one of the tools that, if applied correctly, can lead to salvation. Yoga is described in the Gita as a state of separation and sorrow. Gita says that when a state of bliss is attained, even the greatest suffering cannot disturb this state. Such yoga postures are said to be achieved with determination. One can achieve the goal of Yoga only if he has these two qualities. 'Vairagya' means desirelessness; it is the opposite of raga, which means addition. One can succeed in eliminating the desire of the mind to pursue various pleasures. 'Abhyasa' is the process of studying the mind. This can be done in different ways, depending on the personality of each person. They are known as different types of yoga. They may be different and different at first, but they all lead to the same goal of mukti. The Upanisads discuss the value of life and the process of upliftment of the human consciousness; which is the theme of yogic science. The Yogatattvaupanisad deals with the description of subjects related to yogic science as yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana, samadhi. Mantrayoga, Layayoga, Hathayoga, 307

Rajayoga, Jnanayoga, Pranavapasana and different stages of human consciousness. This very Upanisad observes "Yoga is the union of prana and apana, union between raijas (menstrual discharge) and retas (human semen) union between Sun and Moon (candra and surya nadi) in the body as well as the union between jivatma and paramatma (human soul and universal soul)". Mantrayoga, Layayoga, Hathayoga and Rajayoga are the four phases and with coordination this is called caturvidya (four knowledge) Yoga which is named as mahayoga. But where the human soul is throated as not different from God, then Yoga means realizations of one's own real self. Either way in order to achieve this end an absolute control over the mind is a sine que non, even though human endeavor has devised various methods (or paths) for the purpose. The process of achieving complete control over the mind may also be called Yoga. A life without a guiding philosophy is narrow and selfish producing intolerance, ignorance and prejudice. It is not a happy life. A purposeful intelligible meaningful life is one that is alert and active, ever, leafing and constantly growing. Man is also guided by fear and sorrow. Sorrow is the constant companion, while joy is an occasional visitor. Man is a creature of wants and his wants are unlimited. As a conscious being he desires and objects which can satisfy his needs. The desire can't be satisfies. But the religious and however can't stop at this point. He must face the question whether the existence of sorrow & permanent. The Upanisadic education must liberate man from the face of cow radices pettiness, greed, and hate sorrow mindless. The limits 'I' and 'you' mind create all problems which 308

should be transformed. In Yogatattva Upanisad we get some points are follows: Maya indicates the things which have no real existence. It is used in the sense of supernatural power and wonderful skill. In the Brhad, Prasna and Svetaupanisad the wind means magic. All souls experience great happiness and sorrow from the traps of Maya. Kaivalya, in the highest seat, is the path that gives them freedom that breaks the snares of maya. Maya is the destroyer of birth, old age and disease and the one who helps us overcome death. Paramatma is eternal. It's perfect. Go through all sales and no sales. He is at the top of everything that exists. It is the result of good deeds and sins. Jiva which is associated with happiness and misery therefore the word jiva is applied to paramatma which is pure. Jiva is considered as kevala (alore) which is free from lust, anger, fear, deceit, greed, pride, lust, birth, death, avarice, saloon, dizziness, hunger, thirst, greed, shame, fear, fire, sorrow and joy. Yoga becomes weak without jnana. The process of birth and death comes only through ajnana and perishes only through Jnana. Jnana alone is first. Mantrayoga, Layayaga, Hathayoga, Rajayoga. One has to practice the mantra with matrkas and others for twelve years, then one gradually gains wisdom. The concentration of citta is called layayoga. This yoga is said to have subscientifics yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharana, dhyana. Meditation on Hari between the eyebrows, the posture of equality. Non-injury is important in niyama sidha, padma, simha and bhadra are the four obstacles of non-injury. Laziness, bad character, idle talk, etc. are also are one obstacles of non-injury. Assuming padama posture, a yogi can do pranayama. He erect a beautiful monastery with a 309

very small opining and with on crevices. It should well paste with cowdung or with white cement. Constant practice of yoga and retain the breathing is called kevala kumabhaka is attained. When kevala kumbhaka is attained nothing is unattainable in the three worlds. He enables him to bring under his control all the creatures that thread this earth, tigers, sanabha, elephants etc. The term 'Om' is known as aksrabrahma. He is reality transcendent to jiva, isvara and maya-prakrti, to paramabrahman. The Bhagavad Gita speaks of parambrahman the purusottama. He is sat, cit and ananda. Existent, conscious, blissful. He is truth and pure. Drawing away completely the organs from the objects of sense during called pratyahara. There are three world, three Vedas, three sandhyas, three svarasThree agni and three gunas, all these are placed in the three letters (Om). By the letter A, the lotus becomes expanded by the letter U, it becom e split, by the letter M in obtains nada. As oil in the gingerly seed as the gold is the quartz, so is the lotus situated in the heart. There is also the description of bandha mudra, asana, pranayama and pratyahara, bandha means to tighten or to lock to hold which is firmly fixed mudra means emotional devotional and aesthetic gesture. So according to this very Upanisad, isolation or Kaivalya would therefore mean complete detachment of the soul from the various operations of the mind and consequently from all those the nature has to the soul. And lastly emancipation is attainable only through the practice of Yoga not otherwise. 310

Future, we see that integration of personality can be attained at different levels depending on individual capacity and limitations. The techniques used to achieve this end are the means, so we can see now why Yoga is referred to as the means and the end it is both, the path and the destination of our journey towards well knowledge. Yoga in its literal sense means union. In case the human soul is taken as an entity separate and distinct from God, then Yoga is aimed at achieving its union with God or an indistinguishable merging of the two, where the result is only means i.e. the Supreme Being. But where the human soul in treated as not different from God, then Yoga means realization of one's own real-self. Either way in order to achieve this end, an absolute control over the mind is a sine que non, even though human endeavor has devised various methods (or paths) for the purpose. The process of achieving complete control over the mind may also be called Yoga. Hence, the Yogatattva Upanisad is a text which dealt with various concepts of yogic ideas and practice prevalent at a certain period of time. It was a discourse which revealed the intricacies of yogic ideas brought in to practice. The human values are note worly which have been described very systematically. Therefore it has a social relevance even today. 311
