10. The Bhutas and their Qualities
The qualities of the five Bhutas have thus been described by Susruta with reference to the body (SS.III.1:19). Of Akasa-bhuta 1. Sound (Sabda) 2. Sense of hearing (Sabdendriya) 3. Porosity 4. Power of (Sarva-chidrasamuha) (Viviktata) differentiation According to the commentator Dalhana, Viviktata means individualisation of the arteries, veins, nerves, muscles, bones and other parts of the body.
