The Pujavidhis and Mantras of Khsetrapala are provided in Patala 32 of Mantrapada The Mulamantra, Chandas, etc., are also presented. 26 1,000 Japas are stipulated to be performed every day, beginning on Krsnastami for Purascarana, until Siddhi is attained. Ksetrapala is assigned the status of an Upadevata and is deemed to be the chief sentinel of the temple as well as the village or town where the temple is built. Mahotsava is similar in nature to Nityotsava, the exceptions being hoisting of the flag of Sarama and special offer of Bali to a long list of Bhutaganas. Sarvabhistaphalasiddhi is predicted when all the related procedures like Avabhrtasnana, Daksina and Annadana are duly performed.
