Story of ṃśu
Name of a King belonging to the Solar dynasty (ūⲹ Vaṃśa).
Genealogy.
ṃśu was descended from վṣṇ through -Ѳī-śⲹ貹-վ-Vaivasvatamanu-ṣv-վܰṣi-Śś岹-ʳܰñᲹⲹ-Kakutstha-Anenas-ṛtܱś-Prasenajit-۳ܱś-Ի-Purukutsa-Trasadasyu-Բṇy-ⲹś-ղܳԲ-ܻԱ-հṇa-Satyavrata-հśṅk-ᲹśԻ-dzś-Harita-ñ-Sudeva-Bharuka-ܰ첹-Sagara-ñᲹ-ṃśu.
Birth.
Sagara, a king of the ūⲹ ṃśa, (mentioned above) had two wives, Sumati (ղ岹ī) and śī (Saibā) by name. śī gave birth to a son named ñᲹ. ṃśu was the son of ñᲹ and the father of the famous īٳ. (See under the title, BHAGĪRATHA).
Some other details.
ṃśu was one of the Kings who attended the ⲹṃv of ñī. (Vide Śǰ첹 11, Chapter 185 of Ādi Parva of the Ѳٲ).
