艣奴dr膩y膩峁� k峁triyavi艣o岣� s膩hasro vai bhaved dama岣� || 383 ||The Br膩hm补峁嘺 having intercourse with the said two, when protected, should be made to pay a fine of one thousand; the fine for the 碍峁迟谤颈测补 and the 痴补颈艣测补 approaching a 艢奴dra woman, should be one thousand.鈥�(383)
Medh膩tithi鈥檚 commentary (manubh膩峁a):
The Br膩hm补峁嘺 approaching the protected 痴补颈艣测补 or 碍峁迟谤颈测补 Woman should be fined one thousand; and of course 鈥榖anishment鈥� and 鈥榖randing鈥� remain as the fixed forms of punishment (in all cases of adultery).
For approaching a 艢奴dra woman, the 碍峁迟谤颈测补 and the 鈥�痴补颈艣测补 should be fined one hundred.
鈥�厂腻丑补蝉谤补鈥� is the same as 鈥�Sahasra,鈥� the affix 鈥�补峁�鈥� having the reflexive-force. Or 鈥�厂腻丑补蝉谤补鈥� may be explained as that which consists of a sahasra or thousand; the 鈥�补峁�鈥� affix having the force of the possessive.鈥�(383)

This verse is quoted in 痴颈惫腻诲补谤补迟苍腻办补谤补 (p. 393);鈥攊n 痴测补惫补丑腻谤补尘补测奴办丑补 (p. 106), which remarks that this refers to the case of a chaste woman;鈥攊n 笔补谤腻艣补谤补尘腻诲丑补惫补 (Vyavah膩ra, p. 317);鈥攁nd in 痴墨谤补尘颈迟谤辞诲补测补 (Vyavah膩ra, 155b), which explains 鈥�te鈥� as 鈥槹梗a迟谤颈测补 and 痴补颈艣测补鈥�.
