վṣaṛtٲ (विषमवृत्�) refers to one of three types of ṛtٲ.—The metres regulated by ṣa are called ṛtٲs and those regulated by ٰ are called پ. A ṛtٲ is divided into three classes viz. samaṛtٲ, ardhasamaṛtٲ, and ṣaṛtٲ. Again, yati or pause or caesura is a part of a verse, at which the reader is required to stop his breath and then proceed on.
