: Shodhganga: Thought of buddha natureas depicted in the Lankavatara-sutra鲹ٲԲdzٰ岵 (रत्नगोत्रविभाग) is another name for the 鲹ٲԲdzٰ岵śāstra: the great explanation of the Buddha-nature thought. The 鲹ٲԲdzٰ岵śāstra (or “Jewel Nature Treatise� / “Buddha-nature Treatise�) synthesizes the significant development of the idea prior. While the Śīīūٰ generally emphasized the process of the self-evolution from the enlightening potentiality of Buddha-nature to become itself ٳⲹ as a fruit, the śāstra refers to the identity of these two concepts as an ontological antecedent. In other words, although the Buddha-nature and ٳⲹ are linguistically different, both are ontologically identical. Therefore
