This page describes Introduction which is the first part of chapter V of the English translation of the Datta-nandana-prahlada-caritra, contained within the “Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Caritra�: a massive Jain narrative relgious text composed by Hemacandra in the 12th century. Datta, Nandana and Prahlada in jainism refers to some of the 63 illustrious beings or worthy persons.

In Ara’s congregation there were the վṣṇ, the Bala, and the Pratyardhacakrin�Datta, Nandana, and ʰ岹, respectively. Their history is narrated (herewith).
