Residence in a solitary place鈥�艣奴苍测补驳腻谤腻惫腻蝉补, residence in a deserted habitation鈥�惫颈尘辞肠颈迟腻惫腻蝉补, causing no hindrance to others鈥�辫补谤辞辫补谤辞诲丑腻办补谤补峁嘺, acceptance of clean food鈥�产丑补颈办峁补艣耻诲诲丑颈, and not bickering with the fellow monks鈥�蝉补诲丑补谤尘腻惫颈蝉补峁僾腻诲补, are the five observances (产丑腻惫补苍腻) for the vow of non-stealing (acaurya). What are the observances for the vow of non-stealing (acaurya)? This 蝉奴迟谤补 describes the observances.
Living in vacant or unoccupied places such as a cave, a hill, the hollow of a tree, etc., is 艣奴苍测补驳腻谤腻惫腻蝉补. Living in places, such as a house vacated by others, is 惫颈尘辞肠颈迟腻惫腻蝉补. Living in a manner that causes no hindrance to others is 辫补谤辞辫补谤辞诲丑腻办补谤补峁嘺. Living on clean food, free from organisms as laid down in the Scripture, is 产丑补颈办峁补艣耻诲诲丑颈. Not bickering with those following the same path with utterances like 鈥榯his is mine,鈥� or 鈥榯hat is yours,鈥� is 蝉补诲丑补谤尘腻惫颈蝉补峁僾腻诲补. These are the five observances for the vow of non-stealing (acaurya).
