21. Although this author is convinced that the CRCa II
text is either an abridged version of the B峁沨aspati-samhita of the
Garuda-pur膩峁嘺 or an extract of the B峁沨aspati-sa峁僪it膩 of the
Garu岣峚-pur膩峁嘺, and not as the colophon would indicate, a text of
a collection of Ca峁嘺kya, maxims (belonging to the CR version),
this question must remain unresolved as long as the basic text or
the ur-text of the Garuda-dur膩峁嘺, and in particular of its B峁沨apati-
sanhit膩, is not found.
