18: Alaṃkāra-śāstra according to վ (13th century)
վ, who belongs between the end of the 13th century and the beginning of the 14th century, has composed a work on Sanskrit Poetics known as 屹ī. It is composed in -ṛtپ style and is divided in eight (08) ܲԳṣa or chapters. The last two ܲԳṣa treat the figures of speech, śṃk and ٳṃk respectively. The arrangement of the subject matters of 屹ī is largely based upon Mammaṭā’s 屹ⲹ첹ś and the classification and treatment of figures mostly follow Ruyyaka’s ṃk. Though being a strong advocate of the dhvani-ٳǰ[1] , վ has treated the figures of speech in details.
