Story of Dvādaśāditya
The twelve sons born to śⲹ貹 by his wife Aditi are called Dvādaśādityas (Twelve Ā徱ٲⲹ) The word Ā徱ٲⲹ means 'born of Aditi'. As it occurs in Agni ʳܰṇa (Ch. 51) a table, showing the names of the twelve Ā徱ٲⲹ and the sign of the Zodiac over which each Ā徱ٲⲹ predominates and the colour of it, is given below.

9 Parjanya Dhanu (Sagittarius) Parrot-colour.
10 ձṣṭ Makara (Capricorn) Snow-white.
11 Mitra Kumbha (Aquarius) Smoky hue.
*) This version of the episode is found in Ѳٲ. The poet has made variations, suitable to his work, the Abhijñāna-ŚܲԳٲ. Some deviations from the Ѳٲ story may be noticed in the works of some other poets also. 2. Different names of Ā徱ٲⲹ occur in different ʳܰṇa. The names given here are based on the Agni ʳܰṇa.
