Story of ṣk

A king of the asuras.

Birth.

Two sons, ᾱṇyṣa and ᾱṇy첹ś and a daughter ṃh, were born to śⲹ貹 貹پ of his wife Diti. ṃh became the wife of Vipracitti. Four sons, Գܳ岹, , ʰ岹 and ṃh岹, were born to ᾱṇy첹ś. 岹 was the son of Hrada. Three sons Āyuṣmān, Ś and ṣk were born to ṃh岹.

Later history.

ṣk became one of the ministers of the famous and mighty hero Ѳṣāsܰ. Cikṣura was the minister of law and order. was the Finance Minister. Asiloma was the Prime Minister and ḍāl the minister of foreign affairs. Udarkka was the general of the army; ṣk, Trinetra and Kālabandhaka were members of the administrative council. Śܰ峦ⲹ was the minister of education. ṣk played an important part in the battle between Ѳṣāsܰ and Indra. When soldiers were killed by thousands, Ѳṣāsܰ sent lastly, ṣk and Durmukha. ṣk engaged himself in a combat with ٱī who fought on the side of the Devas. ṣk became angry and aiming at the breast of ٱī he gave a severe blow with his club. But ٱī evaded him with her club and gave him a severe thrust with her trident at his breast and ṣk fell dead. (Agni Purāṇa, Chapter 19; ٱī Bhāgavata, Skandha 5).
