He was descended from վṣṇ in this order: վṣṇ--Ѳī-śⲹ貹-Śū貹峾-Agnimukha.
Birth.
Śūrapadma married Maya’s daughter and Agnimukha was born as their son. In the battle between the devas and asuras, the latter were defeated and one of them sought shelter in (the lower world). śⲹ貹 married his daughter, ܰ. They had six children; they were: Śūrapadma, Siṃhika, ṃhٰ, ܰ, Gomukha, and Ajāmukhī. Sūrapadma married Maya’s daughter. Agnimukha was one of their four sons, the other three being Bhānugopa, Vajrabāhu and ᾱṇy. (Skanda ʳܰṇa, Āsurakāṇḍa). In the Skanda ʳܰṇa there is a vivid description of the valiant way in which Agnimukha fought in the battle between the devas and asuras.
