艣abdo datt膩rthav峁泃titv膩d gau峁嘺tva峁� pratipadyate || 282 ||282. When Agnidatta is called Agni, the word makes its primary meaning (of god Agni) subordinate and, therefore, the usage becomes secondary, as it also stands for datta.
Commentary
It is now stated that when there is superimposition, the usage is, of course, secondary.

[When Agnidatta is referred to by the word Agni, the primary meaning of the latter word, namely, the god Agni, is made subordinate and it now denotes a person called Agnidatta by superimposition (补诲丑测腻谤辞辫补). This is also secondary usage.]
It is now explained how the augment 蝉耻峁� in Hari艣-candra is justified even when the word is only the name of a student (尘腻峁嘺惫补办补).
