ग्राम्यत्व हास्-कारिषु. यथ,
峾ⲹtva hāsya-kāriṣu. yathā,
The fault called 峾ⲹ (colloquialism) is not faulty in humorous statements. For instance:
ⲹṅgīԲ-piṇḍo ṛśyٱ śś-ṇḍ |
dugdha-dhārā ivaitasmāt prapatanti ٲⲹ ||
ⲹṅgīԲ—of fresh butter (or ghee) made from one-day-old milk); 辱ṇḍ—a mass; —l; ṛśyٱ—is seen; śś—of the moon; ṇḍ—the orb; dugdha—of milk; —oܳٱdzܰ; iva—l; ٲ—from this; prapatanti첹; ٲⲹ—the rays.
The moon looks like a mass of fresh butter. The moonrays fall from the moon as if they were jets of milk. (adapted from ٲⲹ-岹貹ṇa 7.21)
iya vidūṣakasyokti.
These are the words of a jester.
Commentary:
According to Śeṣarāja Śarmā, here the colloquial word (峾ⲹ) is dugdha- (jets of milk) yet it is not faulty because of the context (䲹Ի첹).
