Medh膩tithi鈥檚 commentary (尘补苍耻产丑腻峁补):
The 鈥榁irtues鈥� expounded in the Treatise are here specified in detail. With a view to attract the attention of the hearers, it has been described in Verse 50, et. seq., that the results of 鈥榁irtue鈥� are endless. But it is passible that hearers might become discouraged by the idea that 鈥榁irtue鈥� is interminable, without end; hence with a view to encourage them, the Author is now providing a summary of the institute, in the shape of a list of contents:鈥攖he sense being鈥斺�榦nly so many are the subjects dealt with, not too many, and they can certainly be learnt by people who are endowed with due regard and amount of confidence the idea is that if the path traversed is one that has been described briefly, it is not unbearable.
鈥�The coming into existence of the world,鈥欌赌�i.e. the measure of time, the delineation of the characteristics of principles and things, the praise of the Br膩hma峁嘺, and so forth,鈥攁ll these are included under the 鈥�coming into existence of the world鈥�; this subject has been dealt with in the Treatise as a commendatory description, and not as something to be actually accepted as absolutely true.
鈥�The rates relating to sacramental rites,鈥� 鈥�the method of keeping observances.鈥� By 鈥榮acramental rites鈥� are meant those connected with 鈥業mpregnation鈥� and the rest; the 鈥榬ules鈥� i.e., procedure鈥攔elating to these;鈥�the keeping of 鈥榦bservances鈥欌赌�i.e., by the Initiated Student,鈥攐f these the 鈥�method,鈥� the actual performance, the procedure;鈥攖his sums up what has been proclaimed in Discourse II.鈥斺��Final Ablution,鈥欌赌攊.e. the particular ceremony performed by one who is returning from the house of his Preceptor (after finishing his course of study).鈥�(111)
