The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.4.48, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. The Brihad-bhagavatamrita, although an indepent Sanskrit work, covers the essential teachings of the Shrimad Bhagavatam (Bhagavata-purana). This is verse 2.4.48 contained in Chapter 4—Vaikuntha (the spiritual world)—of Part two (prathama-khanda).

अतस् तेऽन्योन्यम् एकत्वं गत अप पृथग-विधः

ٲ–tܲ; te–t; anyonyam–tDzٳ; ekatvam–oneness in spiritual quality; –aٳٲԱ; api–aٳdzܲ; ṛt󲹲-–of different kinds; ٲ-ٳԲ–that place; –t󲹳; Բ-Dz–the multitude of airplanes; tatratyam–located there; sarvam–a; īṛśa–sܳ.

Although the residents of ղṇṭ are all equal to one another, they appear in different forms. Similarly, even though the abode of ղṇṭ, its airplanes, and all its other paraphernalia are embodiments of concentrated Brahman, everything appears in different forms for the sake of the Lord’s pastimes.

Commentary: Dig-darśinī-ṭīkā with Bhāvānuvāda

(By Śīla Sanātana Gosvāmī himself including a deep purport of that commentary)

Śī Gopa-ܳ says, “In keeping with the Lord’s pastimes, although the ղṇṭ residents are identical to one another because of their being embodiments of eternity, knowledge, and bliss, still they appear in different forms. The forms they have assumed (i.e. their bodies), their residences, the airplanes, and all the objects in ղṇṭ are all homogeneous, or one in nature (eka-ū貹), in that they are all embodiments of transcendence (Brahman). Nevertheless, they appear in different forms. Therefore, all the ղṇṭ residents are one in that they are sac-cid-ԲԻ岹, concentrated Brahman, but corresponding to the pastimes of 󲹲, they have many varieties of forms.
