The Brihad-bhagavatamrita Verse 2.1.72, English translation, including commentary (Dig-darshini-tika): an important Vaishnava text dealing with the importance of devotional service. इद� � विमृशत्य� एषाम� उपास्य� जगद्-ईश्वरः �
� एव माधवश् चायं मयान्य� कोऽप्य� उपास्यते � ७२ �ida� sa vimṛśaty ṣām upāsyo Ჹ-īś� |
sa eva mādhavaś cāya� nya� ko'py ܱⲹٱ || 72 ||idam–t; � vimṛśati–he would think; ṣām–for them; ܱⲹ�–the worshipable object; Ჹ-īś�–the Supreme Lord of the universe; �–H; eva–oԱ; �–Ś� ; ca–aԻ; ayam–H; –by me; Բⲹ�–aԴdzٳ; ka� api–sdzDzԱ; ܱⲹٱ–is worshiped.
Rather, he always thought, “The worshipable Lord of these ܲ is indeed the Supreme Lord of the universe, who is also Śī . However, the personality I worship is someone else.

Śī ʲīṣi says, “He thought, ‘The worshipable
Deity (ܱⲹ-deva) of these saintly Vaiṣṇavas is īś, the Supreme Lord of the universe, and is also Śī , whose 岹śԲ I have been having. I accept the words of the saintly persons as authoritative in this matter. However, the Supreme Personality I worship is someone else.’�
