General definition (in Hinduism)

[«𱹾dzܲ Ա»] Surasagara in Hinduism glossary
: academia.edu: Tessitori Collection I (hinduism)

Sūrsāgar represents a collection of stories attributed to Sūrdās: the author of the Rukamaṇīvivāhalo (classified as Medieval Hindi literature), the latter being included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919. The closest text to the Rukamaṇīvivāhalo is a version called Rukmaṇījī ko byāvaloin hāṛautī: a folk story which is often sung by women on the occasion of wedding. [...] Apart from Kṛṣṇa padas of the Sūr-Sāgar a number of purportedly independent works are attributed to Sūrdās. they are mainly unpublished. In the Sūrsāgar the story of Kṛṣṇa, Rukmiṇ and Śiśupāla is present, although not prominent: see Sūrsāgar (ed. nanddulāre Vājpeyī, Banaras, VS 2018) nos. 4786-4807, but this manuscript is different.
