: Shodhganga: The saurapurana - a critical studyŚܰśṅg (शुक्रेश्वरलिङ्�) or simply Śukreśvara is the name of a Tīrtha (holy places) situated at ṇaī, according to the 10th century ܰܰṇa: one of the various Upapurāṇas depicting Śaivism.—ṇaī has remained a place dear to Śiva. It is supposed to be a place of ǰṣa for all living creatures. There are many sacred places and innumerable ṅg which are even unknown to Brahmā, so says the ܰܰṇa. [...] Śܰśṅg situated there is the giver of all kinds of perfection. Śukrācārya is said to have acquired the ṃjīī- by worshipping Śiva here. In the southeastern direction of Śukreśvara lies a pond. A bath at this pond gives the result of ś sacrifice.
