Purana and Itihasa (epic history)

The Veda which issued from the face of God at the time of creation, consisted of 1,00,000 books in four sections, beginning with 峁歬. (Vi峁ａ箛u Pur膩峁嘺, Part III, Chapter 4). The root "峁欳" means "to praise". It got the name "峁欿" meaning, "to praise gods".

The Purana (啶啶班ぞ啶�, pur膩峁嘺s) refers to Sanskrit literature preserving ancient India鈥檚 vast cultural history, including historical legends, religious ceremonies, various arts and sciences. The eighteen mahapuranas total over 400,000 shlokas (metrical couplets) and date to at least several centuries BCE.

Vyakarana (啶掂啶ぞ啶曕ぐ啶�, vy膩kara峁嘺) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
Natyashastra (theatrics and dramaturgy)
Source: Wisdom Library: N膩峁瓂a-艣膩stra峁歬 (啶嬥啷�) or 峁歝 refers to one of the ten kinds of 诲丑谤耻惫腻 (鈥渟辞苍驳蝉鈥�) defined in the N膩峁瓂a艣膩stra chapter 32. Accordingly, 鈥渢he 诲丑谤耻惫腻 is so called, because in it words, 惫补谤峁嘺蝉, 补濒补峁僰腻谤补, tempo (laya), 箩腻迟颈 and 辫腻峁噄蝉 are regularly (dhruva) connected with one another鈥�.
Natyashastra (啶ㄠぞ啶熰啶ざ啶距じ啷嵿い啷嵿ぐ, 苍腻峁瓂补艣腻蝉迟谤补) refers to both the ancient Indian tradition (shastra) of performing arts, (natya鈥攖heatrics, drama, dance, music), as well as the name of a Sanskrit work dealing with these subjects. It also teaches the rules for composing Dramatic plays (nataka), construction and performance of Theater, and Poetic works (kavya).
