1) To place, put or lay down; prostrate; प्रणिहितशिरस� वा कान्तमार्द्रापराधम� (ṇihitaśirasa� vā kāntamārdrāparādham) M.3.12; तस्मात� प्रणम्� प्रणिधाय कायम� (tasmāt praṇamya ṇiya kāyam) Bhagavadgītā (Bombay) 11.44.

2) To set, put in, inlay or incase; यद� मणिस्त्रपुणि प्रणिधीयत� (yadi maṇistrapuṇi ṇidhīyate) Pañcatantra (Bombay) 1.75 (v. l.).

3) To apply, fix upon, direct towards; भर्तृप्रणिहितेक्षणाम� (󲹰ṛpṇi󾱳ٱṣaṇām) R.15.84; Bhaṭṭikāvya 6. 142.
