ҲԻ󲹱ṛkṣa (गन्धवृक्�) refers to “perfumed trees� according to the 2nd century Mahāprajñāpāramitāśāstra (chapter XV). Accordingly, “The perfumed trees (Ի󲹱ṛkṣa) are: 1) the A k’ie leou (agaru), Agalloche (tree with the perfume of honey); 2) the To k’ie leou (tagaru), Tabernaemonatana coronaria (very perfumed tree); 3) the Tchan t’an (candana), sandalwood, and other species of perfumed trees�.
