This page describes Rama’s omniscience which is the eleventh part of chapter X of the English translation of the Jain Ramayana, contained within the “Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Caritra�: a massive Jain narrative relgious text composed by Hemacandra in the 12th century. This Jain Ramayana contains the biographies of Rama, Lakshmana, Ravana, Naminatha, Harishena-cakravartin and Jaya-cakravartin: all included in the list of 63 illustrious beings or worthy persons.
Part 11: 峾’s omniscience
Then on the twelfth day of the bright fortnight of Māgha in the last watch of the night the brilliant omniscience of the sage 峾 arose. Sītendra, devoted, and the other gods celebrated fittingly 峾’s omniscience-festival. Seated on a divine golden lotus, adorned with divine chauris, having a divine umbrella, 峾 delivered a sermon. At the end of the sermon Sītendra, who had asked for forgiveness, bowed and asked 峾 about the condition of existence of Saumitri and 屹ṇa. 峾 replied:
