Verse 9.38 - The last two types of pure meditation (śܰԲ)

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of Tattvartha sūtra 9.38:

पर केवलिन  .३८

pare kevalina || 9.38 ||

The last two types of pure meditationśܰԲ–arise in the Omniscient (𱹲ī). (38)

Hindi Anvayarth:

Anvayartha: [pare] shukladhyana ke antima do bheda arthat sukshmakriyapratipati aura vyuparatakriyanivarti ye do dhyana [kevalinah] kevali bhagavana ke hote haim |

Explanation in English from Ācārya Pūjyapāda’s Sarvārthasiddhi:

The first two kinds of pure meditationśܰԲ–must occur to the śruta𱹲ī. In whom do the rest arise?

The last two types of pure meditationśܰԲ–arise in the Omniscient-with-vibrationsayoga𱹲ī–and non-vibratory Omniscientayoga𱹲ī. The Omniscient is the one who has destroyed the entire knowledge-obscuring (ñ屹ṇīy) karmas.
