罢别补肠丑颈苍驳鈥�惫腻肠补苍腻鈥揷onsists in teaching of the Scripture鈥搘ords or meanings or both鈥搘ith precision. Putting questions to others with the object of clearing doubts or strengthening one鈥檚 knowledge is questioning鈥�辫峁沜肠丑补苍腻. Contemplation on the knowledge acquired is reflection鈥�补苍耻辫谤别办峁Ｄ�. Recitation鈥�腻尘苍腻测补鈥搃s repeating the text again and again with correct pronunciation. Preaching鈥�dharmopa-诲别艣补鈥搃s narrating moral stories, etc., for the benefit of the suitable recipients. What is the purpose of these five types of study鈥�蝉惫腻诲丑测腻测补? The objects are extraordinary knowledge, purity in disposition, wholesome fear of worldly existence, progress of austerities, and freedom from transgression.
