The ruler and his affairs
Kings themselves were religious-minded. They also constructed new temples construction records. The Kings fostered and encouraged fine arts like music, dance and dramas. It was the duty of the King to protect the religious faith of his own subjects[1] donation inscriptions. It was one of the duties of the King to render economic assistance to his subjects. They toured around the country to acquaint themselves with the grievances of the public so as to discharge their duty of redressing them.[2]
