33. Drink of Soma dish in a remedial rite
The drink of soma dish which is milk-rice, could be included in this study on drinks as it would be a semi-thick mess of boiled rice in milk reduced to a kheer or payasam directly consumed. The Kau.S. uses the hymn (XXXI.9) in a remedial rite against boils, and in the kamya rites (LIX.28), with the worship of heaven and earth, when valuables are lost, in the Savayajnas (LXVI.2), in the Medhajanana (X.20). The hymn accompanies the partaking of soma dish and worshipping the sun.
