The drink of soma dish which is milk-rice, could be included in this study on drinks as it would be a semi-thick mess of boiled rice in milk reduced to a kheer or payasam directly consumed. The Kau.S. uses the hymn (XXXI.9) in a remedial rite against boils, and in the kamya rites (LIX.28), with the worship of heaven and earth, when valuables are lost, in the Savayajnas (LXVI.2), in the Medhajanana (X.20).
