This divinity is worshipped whenever there is a serious case of illness in a house, or a sudden misfortune is apprehended. When the worship is not practicable, or inconvenient, one particular hymn in praise of the divinity, called Vatukabhairava-stava is religiously recited, morning and evening, in the hearing of the patient until he is cured.
