79 Brahmana-sarvasva. On the duties of Brahmanas, from the com mencement of their religious study to funeral. By Halayudha, minister of justice of Lakshmana Sena of Bengal. He is the author of several works of great repute, including among others the Mimamsa-sarvasva, or a summary of the Mimamsa philosophy; the Vaishnava-sarvasva, or the duties of Vaishnavas; the Siva-sarvasva, or the whole circle of duties of Saivas; the Pandita-sarvasva, or the duty of the learned; the Muni-sarvasva, or the duty of ascetics; the Nyaya-sarvasva, or a summary of Nyaya philosophy; the Matsyasukata Tantra, or theology ; the Abidhana ratnamala, or a vocabulary of Sanskrit words; the Kavirahasya, (No. 639) ; and the Mrita-sanjivani (No. 1). The brother of the author, Pashupati, was the prime minister of Lakshmana Sena, and several works of great repute are attributed to him. The work under notice treats of seventy-six subjects, the Sanskrit names of which are noted below. It quotes largely from the Kalpa and the Grihya Sutras of Katyayana, Baudhayana, Asvalayana, Gobhila and Paraskara, as also from Manu, and most of the leading Puranas.
