The various incarnations of the divinity are arranged into two classes, viz., lilavatara or manifestation for enjoyment, and gunavatara or incarnation of the three qualities of satva, rajas and tamas. Krishna belongs to the first class, and was manifest in the entirety of the divine spirit, Purnavatara. The work is founded on the Bhagavatamrta of Rupa Gosvami.
