concentrated in the nose. All the senses are focused on the mind. All thoughts are focused on OM or Brahman, the Supreme Self, all support. The buzz of the bees, the sweet melody of the nightingale, the seven melodies of music (sa, le, ga, ma, pa, da, nee, sa), the mudanga and timpani, the lute and flute, the lion's roar, the lover's song, The neigh of a horse, the hiss of a cobra, the applause of the audience when a speaker delivers his final lecture, all these can only emanate from OM Kāra. OM is the embodiment of the Vedas. 66 All languages and sounds come from Ohm. The essence of the four
Vedas is only OM. A, U, M cover the full range of sound vibrations. “A�
starts at the base of the tongue. 'U' starts in the middle. Finally, when
you close your lips, you get an 'M'. Anyone who chants or repeats OM is
actually repeating the scriptures of the entire world. OM is the source or
womb of all religions and scriptures from different parts of the world.
Oh, Amen and Amen are all one. They represent Truth, Brahman and the
One Being. Without OM there is no worship. OM is saguna.
Praṇava or OM is the greatest of all mantras. It gives instant relief.
All mantras begin with OM. All Upaniṣads begin with OM. Gayatri begins
with OM. OM chants are recited before offerings are made to the various
gods. The Archanas, namely Ashtari (108), Trisāthi (300) and Sahasra
(1000), are also preceded by Praṇava. Oh no one can explain the greatness
of his kara. Parvati, Adishesha and even the great sages could not explain
the greatness of Pranava. Every sound has an ohm.
OM is an auspicious characteristic of Sannyasins and Vedantins
who are interested in spreading spiritual knowledge throughout the world.
It is written on the front wall of every sannyasini āsram. OM is used in the
form of a call or address during prayer or supplication. OM is a persuasive
