SOME LOST UPAPUR膧峁咥S 19. The Saura-pur膩峁嘺. 511 Besides the present Saura-p. which is a 艢aiva work,
there was an earlier Saura which is now lost. Full informa-
tion about this lost Saura-p. will be given under 'Saura-p.'
in Vol. III of the present work.
20. The Soma-pur膩峁嘺.
This work is neither mentioned in any of the lists of
Upapur膩峁嘺s nor drawn upon or referred to by any of the
commentators and Nibandha-writers. It is only Alber奴ni
who mentions it in that list of eighteen Pur膩峁嘺s which he
committed to writing from dictation." So, this Upapur膩峁嘺
must have been written earlier than 850 A.D., otherwise it
could not attain so much prominence as to be included among
the 'Pur膩峁嘺s' in Alberuni's time.
21. The Tva峁ａ弓峁�-pur膩峁嘺.
This work is not mentioned in any of the lists of Upapu-
r膩峁嘺s. Of the commentators and Nibandha-writers it is
only Deva峁嘺bha峁�峁璦 who is found to quote one verse from
this Upapur膩峁嘺 in his Sm峁泃i-candrika." So, this work
must have been written earlier than 950 A.D.
22. The Urdhva-pur膩峁嘺.
This work is not mentioned in any of the lists of Upa-
pur膩峁嘺s, but it is drawn upon in the V盲kya-ratn膩kara of
Govinda (son of Ga峁嘺ka Sad膩艣iva Mi艣ra).78
