Chapter 9.9 - The Garuda-upapurana (study)
This work [garuda-upapurana] is mentioned only in the Ekamra-purana, but we do not know definitely whether by 'Garuda' the Ekamrap. means the present Garuda-purana which was a much later work than the earlier Garuda,62 and which was regarded as a spurious work by Vallalasena.63
62 See R. C. Hazra, Studies, pp. 141-145. ** See Danasagara, p. 7, verses 63-66, for which see Chapter I. (under 'Devi-purana' above).
