TEXT-33: sisadhayisavirahavisistasya siddhyanumanatiriktasadhakamanayor anyatarasyabhavah karanam iti tu kecit. TRANSLATION: Some (i. e Yajnapati Upadhyaya) say that the absence of either of the two, such as the cognition of probandum and a measure of cognition other than inference, which is qualified by the absence of desire to establish is the cause.
