I feel myself blessed to be supervised by my guide, Professor Shrutidhara Chakravarty, M.A. Ph.D., Department of Sanskrit, Gauhati University, Assam, for her untiring efforts and egging me on throughout the course of my research. She took all the pains in going through the manuscript of my paper and rectifying my mistakes at all stages. I always felt reinforced under her care. This present dissertation would have never been completed without her encouragement.
