The first is a very simple design containing eight lotus petals arrayed
around a circle. It is popular by another name the Kamalavasini Yantra. In it
all the different types of seed mantras are to be applied mentally. The second
type is an application-yantra. It consists of two whorls of lotus petals the one
which is inside consists of twelve petals and the second layer consists of
sixteen petals. Both the whorls are enclosed within a double layer of
Bh奴puram. In the center, within the circle is written the pranava and within
it is the name of the person for whom the yantra is applied for a particular
purpose is written. Throughout the body of the yantra the seed mantra of the
goddesses is written.
The first type of yantra is written on permanent and sustainable
material and is used for regular worship process by thes膩dhakahimself. The
second type of yantra is one which has a specific application- the attainment
of prosperity and the destruction of calamities of the sadhaka. It is as such
