taking broth of meat, opposing other women, enjoyment of
another wives, sleeping with wet feet, eating with dry or dirty
feet, using sandal paste on the ears or the face, exposing oneself
to the dust raised by the heat of a goat or an ass or by a gluttony
woman's feet and using harsh words for others.
Dos and Donots for a Sadhaka.
The STT 197, states the dos and the do nots which the Sādhaka should
follow if he desires the permanency of the goddess Śrī.
(i) The Dos.
The Sādhaka who wants Śrī should always, be truthful,
should face the west when taking meals, he should be gentle in his
speech, should speak with a smiling countenance and use scents and
flowers. He should always be pure, should sleep on a pure bed with a
young woman.
(ii) The Donots.
The person who is desirous of wealth and prosperity should
not do the following - should not eat when he has oil rubbed over
him, never rub turmeric on his face, should not sleep when he is
