modaka, Havisyānna prepared of boiled rice with clarified butter and
salt, piṣtaka of jao or wheat flour, paramanna with ghee, nectar like
sweet meats, coconut, coconut water, svastik piṣṭtka, svastik and ripe
plantain, kesaru-root, ginger-mula, excellent fruit of wood-apple,
jujube fruit and other appropriate white purified fruits of the season
and peculiar to that place are offered.
In the MLRK 330 it is stated that the supreme goddess Śrī is
to be contemplated as Sarasvati and worship should be offered to her
as such. This worship bestows speech to the dumb and eloquence to
the learned. The sädhaka has to wear white clothes and should
maintain strict Brahmacharya and worship the goddess with white
flowers and make an offering of white things such as curds, milk and
water etc...
Iconographic details.
Sarasvati is referred to as being eight armed and so called
as Mahāsarasvati. She holds the following accessories in her hands
they are - a bell, a pickaxe, plough, conch shell, musala -a sort of
