5. Concept of Creation in Samaveda
Creation in Samaveda In the [Samaveda] there also the definition and the description of creation. In the Tandya Maha Brahmana which belongs to the [Samaveda] , the theory that prior to creation there existed 'one' only and 'That one' created the world developing the desire therefore, and that apart from 'That one' there existed nothing is mentioned." It 27 may be added that the ritualistic section of the [Samaveda] contains meager references to Advaitic thought while the [Chandogya-upanisad] belonging to this Veda contains the chief doctrines of Advaita in their fully developed form.
