Cidgaganacandrika 299 [Nara-Shakti-Shiva in Shakti’s empire], English comparative study extracted from the two available commentaries—the Divyacakorika and the Kramaprakashika. The Cidgagana-candrika is an important Tantric work belonging to the Krama system of Kashmir Shaivism. त्वं नवार्णमनुचक्रविग्रहा स्वोदरार्पितसमस्तदेवता �
देवि सप्तदशवर्णभेदिता त्वं प्रकाशशिवचन्द्रगामिनी � २९� �

tva� navārṇamanucakravigrahā svodarārpitasamastadevatā |
devi saptadaśavarṇabheditā tva� prakāśaśivacandragāminī || 299 ||

[Nara-Śپ-Ś in Śپ’s empire]

Śپ in the form of the ṇa mantra and Aṣṭacakra (ṣṭ) projects seventeen devatas (9 letters of Mantra and “a�, “ka�, “ca�, “ṭa�, “ta�, “pa�, “ya�, “śa”—the eight vargas) which rest in her bosom. Ś (ʰś), who is her companion, is assimilated to Candra. Her prime status is upheld by Kālidasa, fixing Ś, in secondary stage in the form of Candra ʰś. When in union, it is difficult to fix the primacy of status to either because they are the divine couple[1]. Śپ forms the base for the Trika form- Nara-Śپ and Ś that falls within her empire.
