The Atharvaveda mentions the treatment of dental disease and toothache. The Atharvaveda mentions the use of sesame seeds in the treatment of dental diseases[1]. There are three types of sesame -white, black, and red. Black sesame is the best, sesame oil is good for teeth. The Atharvaveda also mentions Nyagrodha and banyan trees for dental treatment. In the MaitrÄyaṇÄ� ³§²¹á¹ƒh¾±³ÙÄå and Yajurveda, the leaves of Indajau, °­³Üá¹­aÂá²¹, °­³Üá¹­aÂá²¹vÄ«ja and Black °­³Üá¹­aÂá²¹vÄ«ja are described as medicines for dental diseases.
