Story of 艢奴谤补蝉别苍补
A King of 驰补诲耻惫补峁兣沘.
General.
艢奴谤补蝉别苍补鈥檚 kingdom was 惭补迟丑耻谤腻辫耻谤墨. This country was originally ruled by Kings of the Solar dynasty. Dev墨 Bh膩gavata, 4th Skandha explains how the 驰腻诲补惫补 Kings came to rule over 惭补迟丑耻谤腻.
There was a region called Madhuvanam in the 碍腻濒颈苍诲墨 river valley. Madhu, the Asura, who lived in Madhuvana had a son named 尝补惫补峁嘺. 尝补惫补峁嘺 who was a tyrant and an oppressor of the gods, was killed by 艢补迟谤耻驳丑苍补 who established his rule there. In course of time, the place came to be known as "惭补诲丑耻谤腻". After 艢补迟谤耻驳丑苍补鈥檚 time his two sons ruled over the country. Thus the Solar dynasty came to an end and 惭补迟丑耻谤腻 辫耻谤墨 came under the rule of Yadus. The first King of 驰补诲耻惫补峁兣沘 was 艢奴谤补蝉别苍补. Vasudeva, father of 艢r墨 碍峁涐梗峁嘺 was the son of this 艢奴谤补蝉别苍补. After the death of his father, since Vasudeva took up the occupation of tending cows, Ugrasena became King there. 碍补峁僺补 was the son of this Ugrasena.
Other details.
(i) 艢奴谤补蝉别苍补鈥檚 daughter 碍耻苍迟墨 was adopted and brought up by the king named Kuntibhoja. (惭补丑腻产丑腻谤补迟补 膧诲颈 Parva, Refer Chapters 67, 109 and 110).
(ii) 顿别惫补尘墨岣峢补, father of 艢奴谤补蝉别苍补 had another name, "Citraratha". (惭补丑腻产丑腻谤补迟补 础苍耻艣腻蝉补苍补 Parva, Chapter 147, Verse 29).
