Story of پ
A bird. The elder brother of ṭҳ.
Birth.
ṇa and Ҳḍa were the sons born to ʰ貹پ śⲹ貹 by his wife վԲ. Two sons named پ and ṭҳ were born to ṇa. (For further details see under ṭҳ, para 1).
پ in the Rāmāyaṇa.
Once پ and his younger brother ṭҳ flew to the Sun. To protect his younger brother ṭҳ who had neared the Sun, پ opened his wings which were burnt and he fell on the shore of the salt sea. At this time an army of the monkeys, with Ჹū at their head came there, in search of ī. پ gave them directions of the path they were to follow. (Detailed story is given under 峾 and ī
