Story of 艢补濒测补
A king who gave advice and leadership to the Kauravas. He ruled over the Madra or B膩lh墨ka kingdom. 惭腻诲谤墨, wife of 笔腻峁囜笉耻 was 艢补濒测补鈥檚 sister. Yet, in the great war he stood firmly on the Kaurava side and died at 碍耻谤耻办峁迟谤补. The following role he played in the 叠丑腻谤补迟补 story.
(1) At the instance of 叠丑墨峁补 he gave his sister 惭腻诲谤墨 in marriage to 笔腻峁囜笉耻. (膧di Parva, Chapter 112).
(2) He was present at the wedding of 顿谤补耻辫补诲墨 in the company of his sons 搁耻办尘腻峁単补诲补 and Rukmaratha. (膧di Parva, Chapter 185, Verse 18).
(3) At the 艢vaya峁僾ara of 顿谤补耻辫补诲墨 he withdrew from stringing the bow, owning defeat. (膧di Parva, Chapter 186, Verse 28).
(4) 叠丑墨尘补 defeated him at the wedding of 顿谤补耻辫补诲墨. (膧di Parva, Chapter 189, Verse 23)
(5) During his triumphal tour of the west, Nakula befriended his uncle 艢补濒测补, and entertained him. (厂补产丑腻 Parva, Chapter 32, Verse 14).
(6) He participated in 驰耻诲丑颈峁ａ弓丑颈谤补鈥檚 R膩jas奴ya yaj帽a. (厂补产丑腻 Parva, Chapter 34, Verse 7).
(7) 艢颈艣耻辫腻濒补 once opined that 艢补濒测补 was nobler than 艢r墨 碍峁涐梗峁嘺. (厂补产丑腻 Parva, Chapter 37, Verse 14).

(10) Before the great war began he visited the 笔腻峁囜笉补惫补蝉 and blessed them. Moreover he agreed to act as 碍补谤峁嘺鈥檚 charioteer and render him impotent so that the 笔腻峁囜笉补惫补蝉 could become victorious. (Udyoga Parva, Chapter 8).
(11) 艢补濒测补 joined the Kauravas in the great war with an 补办峁耻丑颈峁嚹� (a particular division of soldiers). (Udyoga Parva, Chapter 19, Verse 16).
(12) 艢补濒测补 wished that 驰耻诲丑颈峁ａ弓丑颈谤补 won the war. (叠丑墨峁补 Parva, Chapter 43, Verse 79).
(13) On the first day of the war he fought a duel with 驰耻诲丑颈峁ａ弓丑颈谤补. (叠丑墨峁补 Parva, Chapter 45, Verse 28).
(14) 艢补濒测补 killed Uttara, the 痴颈谤腻峁璦 prince. (叠丑墨峁补 Parva, Chapter 47, Verse 35).

(29) In the fight with Abhimanyu he fell down unconscious. (顿谤辞峁嘺 Parva, Chapter 37, Verse 38).
(30) Abhimanyu defeated him again. (顿谤辞峁嘺 Parva, Chapter 48, Verse 14).
(31) He fought for the fifth time with 驰耻诲丑颈峁ａ弓丑颈谤补. (顿谤辞峁嘺 Parva, Chapter 26, Verse 99).
(32) Afterwards he clashed with Arjuna as the protector of Jayadratha. (顿谤辞峁嘺 Parva, Chapter 145, Verse 9).

(42) He consoled 碍补谤峁嘺, who got alarmed by the prowess of 叠丑墨尘补. (碍补谤峁嘺 Parva, Chapter 84, Verse 8).
(43) 艢补濒测补 comforted Duryodhana, who grieved over the death of 碍补谤峁嘺. (碍补谤峁嘺 Parva, Chapter 92, Verse 10).
(44) As desired by Duryodhana, he assumed charge over the army as its commander-in-chief. (艢补濒测补 Parva, Chapter 6, Verse 28).
