Story of 첹ī

Mother of 屹ṇa.

Birth.

From the wrath of the giant Praheti was born and from ’s hunger the demigod Heti was born. The son Vidyutkeśa was born to Heti, of 󲹲 the sister of (God of death—Time). Vidyutkeśa married Sālakaṭaṅkā the daughter of Ի. A son named ܰś was born to them. ܰś married Devavatī daughter of Maṇimaya, a Gandharva. Three sons , Sumālī and ī were born to them. The three brothers ⲹ, Sumālī and ī married ܲԻ岹ī, ٳܳī and ղܻ respectively, the three daughters of , a gandharva woman. To Sumālī, by his wife ٳܳī, were born the ten sons, Prahasta, Akampana, վ첹ṭa, kāmukha, ٳūṣa, ٲṇḍ, ܱś, ṃh岹, Prākvāta and Bhāsakarṇa and four daughters Vekā (Bṛhā), ʳṣpdzٰ첹ṭ�, 첹ī and ܳīԲī.

Marriage.

As Sumālī was walking through forests with his wives and daughters, he saw so many ۲ṣa (demi-gods) going in planes to pay homage to ղśṇa. Sumālī understood that ղśṇa became worthy of homage because he was the son of վś. So he took his daughter 첹ī and left her in the house of վś. After a while, being pleased with her services, վś took her as his wife. Once she requested her husband for children. Accordingly she got 屹ṇa, ܳ󲹰첹ṇa and վīṣaṇa as sons.
