Commentary
[There was also the view that the word denotes either the universal only or the substance only. Where either is not conveyed by the word, it helps to qualify or modify what is expressed by the word. This is the view of 笔腻峁噄苍颈 himself. That is why he has written the two 蝉奴迟谤补蝉 1. 2.58 and 1.2.64, the former based on the view that the word expresses the universal and the latter based on the view that it conveys the substance.]
