艣耻办濒补tva峁� 产腻丑耻濒别测补sya 艣耻办濒补 ityapadi艣yate || 147 ||147. The word 驳补耻岣� does not denote the fact of being a cow (gotva) of 艣腻产补濒别测补 separately but the word 艣耻办濒补 used as an adjective of 产腻丑耻濒别测补 does denote it separately.
Commentary
[Even though the universal and quality both inhere, in the same object, they are differently expressed by words. The word 驳补耻岣� expresses the universal (gotva) as identical with the object. If it has to be expressed as something distinct from the object, the abstract suffix will have to be used as in 艣腻产补濒别测补sya gotvam, but a quality can be expressed as something distinct without the use of the abstract suffix. That is why the elision of the matup suffix is taught when it is intended to express quality and the object in apposition to each other, as in 艣耻办濒补岣� 辫补峁璦岣�.]
