49. Adhika
महतोर् यन� महीयांसाव� आश्रिताश्रययोः क्रमात� �
आश्रयाश्रयिण� स्याता� तनुत्वेऽप्य् अधिक� तु तत� � १०.१२� �
mahator yan mahīyāṃsāv āśritśⲹyo� |
āśrayāśrayiṇau syātā� tanutve'py adhika� tu tat ||10.128||
ٴ�—are vast; yat—if (yat = yadi); īṃs—t two are greater; śٲ-śⲹ�—when the contents and the container; —sܱԳپ; śⲹ-ś⾱ṇa—t container and the contents; 峾—a; tanutve api—although there is smallness; adhikam—t ornament called adhika; tu—oԱ; tat—t.
When the container, though smaller, greatly exceeds the contents, or when the contents, though smaller, greatly exceed the container, that is adhika (exceeding).
mahator apy ādheyādhārayor viṣaye tad-apekṣayā svalpāv apy ādhārādheyau prakṛta-bhūma-vivakṣayā krameṇa cen īṃs syātā� tadā dvi-vidham adhikam. ādhārādheyayor ekasyādhikye’dhikam iti hi niṣkarṣa�. (See above.)
